Moving Tips
Clean First, Trash Second.
Last minute packing is what often causes us to feel stressed and overwhelmed. Starting to clean your home and dispose all the items we've been hoarding for years, weeks before you're scheduled to move could make your move much simpler.
Start small. Start early.
Start small! Don't feel like you need to pack your whole house in 1 day. One room or area at a time is the way to feel like you're making progress. After you've cleaned up and trash your unwanted belongings, start packing up closets, drawers, night stands, anything that needs to be emptied in order to make your furniture lighter to move. Making for less surprises on moving day!
Label your boxes and stick with it!
Nothing is worse than finally finishing your move, unpacking and you can't find anything! Once you've made a box labelled "Mom's Nightstand", only put items from Mom's Nightstand in there.
Utilize different box sizes.
People often purchase large boxes in bulk. But different box sizes are imperative to staying organized.
Stay calm and don't get overwhelmed.
Moving is destined to be a stressful project. Staying on task and staying calm will definitely make your move feel like a walk in the park. Stick to these few tips and watch how easy your move will feel!
